About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Operations Logistics Manager
(NH-0301-03) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Mission Support Group 412th Logistics Readiness Squadron (412 LRS/LGR), at Edwards AFB, in Edwards, CA
Warfighters delivering global logistics support throughout The Center of the Aerospace Test Universe (TCOTATU). This position serves as the Operations Officer, Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) and default Deputy; sharing the full scope of responsibility with the Commander/Director for managing the activities of the organization. The incumbent is authorized to make technical and executive decisions for the squadron in all areas of functional responsibility; represents the squadron and the Commander/Director at meeting, conferences, official functions, and official events. In absence of the Commander/Director, possesses the same authority and prerogatives, excluding UCMJ authority which is vested in military officers within the chain of command.

Typical 2026 salary range: $104,349 - $161,313/per year (includes locality)

- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization directly and through subordinate supervisors.
Major Duties:
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective
consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
- Directs the mission and establishes the goals of the organization consistent with Group, Wing, Command, and AF strategic plans. Works with commanding officers (or civilian equivalent) and other senior management officials in the development of the primary mission goals and objectives.
- Directly responsible for coordinating 412th Logistics Readiness Squadron managers and other team members in developing Capability and Resource Estimates (C&RE) and logistics support planning for assigned test projects. Logistics lead and subject matter expert (SME) in the formulation and interpretation of logistics planning policy and organizational support for testing efforts. Reviews and approves all squadron inputs to Test Wing Statement of Capability documents.
- Directly responsible for the full complement of duties associated with contract service acquisition, budget programming, regulatory surveillance, local administration, and management of LRS contracts capabilities. Also oversees all logistics and logistics support contracts to ensure strategic alignment, budgeting, compliance, and reporting to all stakeholders. Briefs Commander/Director on the health of services monthly.
- Managing, integrating, and coordinating the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff of military, civilian, and/or contractors required to effectively provide logistics services. Establishes, revises or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements.
- Represents the Commander/Director at group and wing level meetings that involve logistics support. Ensures Squadron Commander/Director is kept apprised of all projects being performed and/or managed by the Squadron well as any issues associated with them. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other organizations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship

Obtain & maintain Secret Security clearance
1 year of appropriate specialized experience to at least next lower grade level.
Comprehensive working knowledge of a wide range of logistics concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices; for both test and operational programs. A working knowledge of the support role in acquisition logistics planning and program management.
Extensive knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, management, and operation of large government organizations to provide high level, staff guidance and participate in the development of goals, objectives, and policies.
Practical knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to developing, planning, budgeting, and coordinating activities, programs, facility programming, contracting, and internal/external customers.
