What you’ll Do:
Provide engineering and project support to Americold facilities. Drive labor productivity and inventory control improvements through engineered labor standards, performance-based incentive roll-out, ideate and support the execution and sustainment of continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leverage dashboards to monitor site level labor, inventory, and service performance, identify issues, and drive corrective actions across all assigned sites.
• Validate and maintain time-studied standards.
• Calculate and implement performance incentives.
• Ensure Work Force Management is accurate and utilized on-site.
• Coach and train operations teams on labor management, inventory control, process improvement tools, and the associated systems. This includes in-person and remote support.
• Evaluate material handling equipment requirements as needed.
• Keep abreast of the latest technology in warehousing and evaluate for innovative applications.
• Develop project scopes, specifications and estimates as needed.
• Drive productivity, cost, and process improvements to reduce cost and enhance customer service.
• Create scheduling tools which accurately reflect work content of a site.
• Build and manage a best practice and SOP library and reporting tools.
• Lead and support various continuous improvement projects.
• Drive the Americold Operating System’s labor, inventory, and other improvement initiatives.
• Create pricing models for new or changing businesses utilizing engineered standards.
• Conduct audits and comparative site analyses to ensure compliance, identify performance gaps, and establish benchmarks for inventory control excellence.
• Other duties as requested.
What Experience and Education You Need:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or equivalent degree such as Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Logistics is required.
• 6+ years of work experience in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Continuous Improvement and PMO skill required.
• Proficiency with RF Scanning and Warehouse Management Systems required.
• Experienced at providing Engineering support to multiple sites.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Exposure to leading multisite engineering projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.
• Strong analytical skills required.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office.
• Strong time management skills required.
• Strong change management skills.
• Ability to read and utilize financial data.
• High travel position, up to 75%
What Could Set You Apart:
• Experience with the distribution/warehouse/logistics industry preferred.
• Automation experience preferred.
• Ability to resolve problems in a timely manner with little or no supervision.
• Able to work in a multi-functional team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated with a high degree of initiative.
• MSD/MOST experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions.
• Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending.
• Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work.
• Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks.
• May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
• May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
• May require carrying loads related to travel and the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Requires the use of various electronic tools.
The Company’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for this position is $94,5000- $118,000 annually. Rate may vary based on work location.
