Full Job Description
EthosEnergy O&M (EEOM) is recruiting for an Operations Director responsible for providing contract oversight, operational leadership, and customer support across a renewable energy portfolio consisting of wind assets in the United States and Canada, US solar facilities, and US renewable natural gas sites. This individual will provide leadership to Region Managers, Site Managers, and operational teams in support of O&M contracts, while also supporting business development efforts for the fleet. This individual is responsible for delivering superior customer experience for both internal and external customers while ensuring safe, reliable, complaint, and cost-effective operations across the assigned portfolio. The Operations Director reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that each EEOM facility is operated and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner through the development of strategic and tactical standards and implementation of standards and expectations.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to each Region and Site Managers.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for the management team to ensure appropriate skill sets are maintained.
  • Become familiar with the O&M contracts for each facility and ensure that the terms of each agreement are followed and satisfied.
  • Ensure all reports and information required under the terms of the O&M contract are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Support EEOM policy development and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and commercial commitments.
  • Implement programs and activities that provide a work environment that promotes effective goal accomplishment, productivity, and morale.
  • Establish regular communications with facility Owners to discuss plant performance and issue resolution.
  • Schedule periodic meeting with facility Owners as per the O&M agreement.
  • Collect and/or review regional O&M financial and HSSE performance, looking for trends that would allow proactive implementation of countermeasures.
  • Participate in EEOM business development meetings and activities.
  • Help prepare O&M proposals for new projects and help identify potential business opportunities.
  • Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements within EEOM and help identify and track key performance indicators at both the plant and corporate level.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • A thorough demonstrated understanding of power plant operations, including a working knowledge of the operations & maintenance functions.
  • A thorough, demonstrated knowledge of energy facility operations, O&M contracts and management methods are necessary to control and improve the business.
  • A working knowledge of chemistry as it relates to plant operations as well as environmental and water treatment programs and statutory regulations.
  • Understand budgets, bid proposals contract evaluation and basic accounting principles, plant economics and power pool operations.
  • Analyzes and interprets data to make sound professional judgments and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage and motivate subordinates.
  • Extensive travel is required to meet with operating staff and Owner representatives.
  • Must be proficient with common computer software suites, including Microsoft Office.

Experience

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of power plant O&M experience with a minimum of six (6) years in a plant management or corporate leadership role.

Education Requirements

  • A four-year degree or commensurate experience is required as well as a demonstrated track record of successful goal achievement.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, reach, climb, stoop and lift (up to 50 pounds)
