Full Job Description
The Operations Director is responsible for oversight of activities in production and manufacturing. This position is a critical role providing leadership to the Deland, Florida Plant of 250+ associates. In this role the Operations Director will develop processes that will maximize safety, quality, productivity and followership for Manufacturing Operations, Facilities, Manufacturing Engineering, and Materials.
This position reports to the VP Operations North America and Energy+ and is part of the Operations team located in Deland Florida and is an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Drive activities intended to achieve annual Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity targets through effective use of Danaher Business System (DBS) tools including but not limited to the efficient execution of Daily Management and KPI action plan development.
• Build a Winning Team by performing supervisory activities, including recruitment and selection, training and development, coaching, and administering performance and salary review processes for direct reports.
• Ensure the KPIs and key goals are achieved, that manufacturing capacity meets the sales plan and that you are building sustainable processes and capabilities.
• Promote, lead and coach others in the use of DBS tools and lean concepts to improve manufacturability, productivity, yields, cost, process variation, and customer quality.
• Partner with HR and your leadership team to maintain headcount, overtime, factory expenses, and fiscal budgets set by annual budgets.
The essential requirements of the job include:
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or Masters' degree with 6+ years of experience - including 5+ years managing people in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Experience with successful implementation of Continuous Improvements, Lean Manufacturing programs, principles and practices, and have strong understanding CI tools and techniques along with the ability to demonstrate sustained results.
• Must possess a thorough understanding of the inter-relationship between manufacturing, S & OP, engineering, inventory/materials management, quality and regulatory affairs programs and purchasing.
• Exceptional leadership, team building skills and the ability to demonstrate how you have developed and sustained a safety culture that achieved outstanding outcomes.
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and people skills, sensitivity to cultural differences, results oriented, creative, and self-motivated.
• Strong financial background with the ability to speak with clarity on how operational decisions articulate in the financial outcomes.
• Demonstrated safety leadership knowledge and prior experience driving safety programs that yielded measurable safety performance improvements.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
