Position Summary

The Specialist will provide budgeting, operational, project management, and administrative support for the CTA Government and Legal Affairs department and the CTAPAC. Additionally, this role will provide executive administrative support to the Government and Legal Affairs Senior Vice President.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Government Affairs budget and budget tracking.
  • Monitor and assist the Government and Legal Affairs team with budget responsibility, management, and compliance.
  • Work with the GLA team to prepare the annual budget, monthly and quarterly budget forecasts, and additional funding requests.
  • Process all departmental invoices and contracts, including managing invoicing and the contract review and approval process.
  • Manage departmental requests from the Executive Office, including preparing department board materials.
  • Provide executive administrative support to the Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, including scheduling, travel coordination, invoice processing, records maintenance, and other related tasks.
  • Support CTAPAC management and operations, including communications, member benefits, and board meetings.
  • Provide project management support for CTA's annual Tech Week, including Policy Day, Digital Patriot's Dinner, and CES on the Hill.
  • Provide project management support for the Leaders in Technology program at CES.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to prepare lobbying reports in compliance with government reporting deadlines.
  • Coordinate the Government Affairs Council Weekly Newsletter.
  • Maintain policy working group lists in Microsoft and Impexium.
  • Serve as support staff to the CTA Government Affairs Department.
  • Handle day-to-day administrative needs, including generating correspondence, scheduling Capitol Hill meetings, tracking appointments, preparing meeting agendas, and maintaining files, records, and office supplies.
  • Must be willing to travel to Las Vegas for CES.
  • Perform other duties as required by business needs.

Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years accounting or finance experience working on budgets and serving in administrative roles. Familiarity with legislative or regulatory processes a plus, but not required.


Skills/Capabilities/Technical:
  • Strong knowledge managing budgets and budget processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as Zoom.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills in public speaking, presentations, and written reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple issues and tasks with limited guidance, and the ability to work reliably on complex projects with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work across departments/cross functionally.
  • Maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all communications and materials.
  • Team-oriented, positive attitude, and adaptability. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with limited guidance while meeting deadlines.

Additional Information:
  • Travel to CES is required; may involve other occasional travel
  • This is a non-exempt position

Compensation & Benefits
CTA is committed to transparency and equitable pay practices. The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. This role may be eligible for bonus or additional compensation, where applicable.
