Description
We are seeking an experienced Advance Planner to support complex planning, scheduling, and operational analysis efforts for U.S. Navy modernization and maintenance programs. The successful candidate will apply advanced analytical techniques, quantitative methodologies, and operational planning expertise to improve organizational effectiveness, optimize resource utilization, and support strategic decision-making. The Advance Planner will work closely with program managers, production planners, engineering teams, and government stakeholders to analyze workflow performance, develop production schedules, identify operational risks, and recommend process improvements that enhance schedule execution and mission readiness. This role requires expertise in data analysis, forecasting, resource planning, and production management within a highly technical and regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and analyze master production schedules to establish workflow sequencing and lead times required to meet project completion dates.
- Evaluate operational processes and apply analytical methods to improve organizational efficiency and resource utilization.
- Conduct quantitative analyses related to scheduling, workforce allocation, material availability, production performance, and operational readiness.
- Develop predictive models, forecasts, and performance metrics to support management decision-making.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Revise existing schedules based on changing priorities, work order requirements, and operational constraints.
- Coordinate with department supervisors, project managers, and production personnel to assess project status and resolve schedule conflicts.
- Monitor schedule performance and expedite delayed activities to ensure program objectives are achieved.
- Prepare production, resource utilization, and operational performance reports for management review.
- Apply operations research techniques such as simulation, optimization, forecasting, statistical analysis, and modeling to support operational planning.
- Develop recommendations for improving production systems, workflow processes, and organizational performance.
- Support Navy modernization planning efforts and ensure alignment with established Navy Modernization Program requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in operations research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in operations analysis, production planning, scheduling, program management support, or related analytical disciplines.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience supporting the alteration or modernization of U.S. Navy surface vessels in accordance with Navy Modernization Program requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative reasoning skills.
- Experience analyzing operational data and developing performance metrics and reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
