Description
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Operations Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL or El Segundo, CA
In this role, you will primarily support:
• Military Systems Modeling and Simulation
• Threat system analysis
• System survivability analysis
• Mission performance/effectiveness analysis
Responsibilities:
• Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis to support program development, execution, and related research and development projects.
• Support lead in developing or assessing new requirements and evaluate advanced air vehicle concepts and technologies
• Support mission engineering activities to ensure performance capabilities of new systems and architectures are traded against cost and mission requirements; develop mission relevant scenarios; assess operational effectiveness of existing and emerging systems and capabilities in the threat environment.
• Communicate across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate capabilities

This role can be filled at either the Engineer level or Principal Engineer level based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications
• Systems Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2 years of experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline.
• Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of experience
• Must have an active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity in various aspects of advanced air and space assets and associated technologies to include:
• Low Observables
• Electronic Warfare
• Radar Modeling/Analysis
• RF/IR/EO/Acoustic Modeling/Analysis
• Survivability Analysis
• Countermeasures
• Operations
• Sensor Payloads
• Ground Station
• Ability to work both independent and in a team in a fast-paced environment, and brief technical approach and status to senior management
• Familiarity with Linux and/or Unix-based development.
• Knowledge of domain-specific radar principles, including signal processing, target acquisition, target tracking, resource management, discrimination, and battle manager interfaces.
• Experience related to with air vehicle sensors (RF, EO/IR, radar, ESM, SAR, etc.), data processing/fusion, data links, navigation, or vehicle control
• Experience in MATLAB, Python, C#, or C/C++ or other advanced programming languages
• Familiarity in USAF modeling and simulations tools such as AFSIM, Suppressor, ESAMS, STK or other engagement or mission level models
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $137,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $171,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
