Are you looking to create capability and competencies in Operational Excellence (OpEx) for the leader in the Medical Technology industry?

As an Operational Excellence Consultant, you will be a core member of a global team representing Operational Excellence in planning and deploying improvement initiatives across Medtronic. Initiatives include a full system for employee capability development, communication, and governance of a standard of practice to create a sustainable mindset of continuous improvement.

We move bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness, always putting patients first in everything we do. This role is remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates located near a Medtronic site to support stronger cross functional collaboration and maintain our competitive advantage. The position requires approximately 50-75% travel to foster collaboration and ensure successful project execution.

As the Operational Excellence Consultant, you will:
  • Lead and build engagement across the company with the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), "our way of working better together".
  • Develop MPS standards and content that will support the entire company.
  • Build and oversee best-in-class website hosting for MPS.
  • Design, implement, and manage MPS learning and training ecosystem, working with Medtronic and vendors.
  • Develop and execute enterprise communication strategies to drive MPS awareness, understanding, and adoption.
  • Lead and coordinate change control for MPS.
  • Lead projects and cross functional initiatives to improve business processes, reduce cost, and enhance quality and performance outcomes.
  • Deliver belt level training programs both in person and virtually, while mentoring and coaching teams to embed continuous improvement capabilities.


Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant business process improvement experience or an advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant business process improvement experience
  • Advanced technology acumen, including practical experience with AI-enabled solutions, advanced analytics, and enterprise web/site hosting platforms to support scalable process improvement and knowledge delivery.
  • Experience leading Continuous Improvement in a transactional space, such as sales & marketing, staff functions.
  • Green Belt certification with advanced knowledge of business improvement methodologies.

  • Black Belt certification
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with demonstrated success leading training courses and workshops both in person and virtually for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling messages, including developing structured communications, learning materials, and capability building content.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50-75%, varying based on project scope and business initiatives.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. A7 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$138,400.00 - $207,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).
