El Operational Excellence Professional es responsable de ejecutar el despliegue del Operating System y The Maersk Way (TMW) a nivel área, asegurando la adopción de prácticas de performance management y la implementación de iniciativas de mejora continua con impacto medible en KPIs.
El rol colabora con equipos operativos y líderes funcionales para identificar brechas de desempeño, facilitar resolución estructurada de problemas y asegurar seguimiento disciplinado de acciones, promoviendo una cultura de mejora continua.

Expert that drives sustainable process improvements through automation, translating optimized process designs into scalable digital solutions. The role is a product-agnostic specialist who partners with business teams across the Area to identify, prioritize and facilitate improvement initiatives to ensure they are embedded, standardized and continuously enhanced over time, leveraging a range of digital tools and platforms (e.g., Power Platform, RPA, analytics...).

Key Responsabilities

1. Operational Excellence Deployment and Execution

This role is responsible for implementing The Maersk Way (TMW) tools, standards, and management routines across assigned functions and sites, ensuring the effective adoption of the operating model. This includes executing improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities, as well as identifying opportunities for process standardization and continuous improvement at the local level. The role also supports the implementation of visual management tools, such as Bowler Charts, ensuring their consistent use as the single source of truth for performance management.

2. Performance Management and KPI Monitoring

The position is responsible for monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying performance gaps (“reds”), and supporting root cause analysis efforts. Based on these analyses, the role contributes to defining clear corrective actions with assigned owners and timelines.

Additionally, the role ensures disciplined follow-up on action plans and supports the timely escalation of risks or deviations that may impact operational performance, in line with the objective of transitioning from reporting to active performance management.

3. Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving

The role facilitates the execution of continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and other methodologies aimed at delivering rapid and sustainable operational improvements. It supports the application of structured problem-solving methodologies to ensure that implemented actions address root causes rather than symptoms, in alignment with TMW’s systemic approach.

4. Capability Building and Coaching

The position is responsible for training operational teams on Operational Excellence and TMW tools, as well as coaching leaders on performance management routines and problem-solving practices. Through these activities, the role contributes to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across the organization, promoting the adoption of new behaviors and ways of working.

5. Stakeholder Management

The role works closely with functional and operational leaders to support the execution of key initiatives and ensure alignment around business priorities. It reinforces accountability through active participation in performance management routines, provides visibility into progress, risks, and support requirements, and acts as a liaison between operational teams and the Operational Excellence Area Head to ensure consistency and alignment in execution.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineer, or related field.
  • +3 years of experience in Delivery of continuous improvement outcomes & Business KPI´s (performance, Operational Efficiency).
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Power Platform, RPA, Python,...)
