Description
The
Operational Buyer plays a critical role in supporting daily procurement activities within the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently, accurately, and on time. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in driving operational excellence.
In this hands-on, individual contributor role, you will manage purchase order execution, coordinate closely with suppliers, and proactively resolve issues to maintain seamless supply continuity. You will also help ensure compliance with company policies while contributing to cost-effective purchasing and process efficiency.

Purchase Order Management- Review and convert approved purchase requisitions into purchase orders within NetSuite
- Ensure accuracy of item, quantity, pricing, delivery dates, and payment terms
- Manage the full PO lifecycle (creation, updates, tracking, and closure)
- Communicate purchase orders to suppliers and confirm acknowledgment
Supplier Coordination & Delivery Management- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and order accuracy
- Track open orders and proactively address delays, shortages, or quality issues
- Coordinate with warehouse/3PL to resolve receiving discrepancies
- Maintain visibility on shipments, confirmations, and delivery timelines
Supplier Performance & Documentation- Support RFQ process for indirect purchases and document supplier quotes
- Track and report supplier performance metrics (on-time delivery, accuracy, quality)
- Maintain accurate supplier and item data in ERP system
- Partner with AP to resolve invoice discrepancies and blocked invoices
Compliance & Process Adherence- Ensure all purchases follow company policies, approval workflows, and authorization limits
- Maintain proper documentation and audit-ready records for all transactions
- Support contract execution and compliance with supplier standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Partner with Planning/MRP teams to align procurement with production needs
- Work with Finance/AP on invoice issues, pricing variances, and cost impacts
- Communicate risks, delays, or shortages to internal stakeholders
- Support NPI activities and participate in planning and shortage review meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Do You Have:- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and P2P processes
- Strong Excel and data management skills
- Solid understanding of MRP and inventory management
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
What Will Make You A Rockstar:- Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce
- Knowledge of RFQ processes and supplier evaluation
- Supply chain certifications (APICS, CPSM, etc.)
- Exposure to import/export or global procurement
- Continuous improvement or Lean experience
