About This RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operational Accountant to support key accounting and financial operations activities across the organization. This role serves as a critical link between finance, operations, and business stakeholders, ensuring accurate financial reporting, process efficiency, and strong internal controls. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting principles along with hands-on experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, cash management, operational reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This individual thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving problems while driving accuracy and efficiency across accounting operations.
W2 Hourly Rate: $50-70/hr DOE
What You Will Work On- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement activity, identify variances, and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage and monitor operational accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, fixed assets, and accruals.
- Assist with cash flow reporting, forecasting, and treasury-related activities.
- Partner with operational and business teams to ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
- Maintain and improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Participate in system implementations, process automation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Develop financial and operational reports to provide insights to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Assist with special projects, ad hoc analysis, and other finance and accounting initiatives as needed
What You Will Bring- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, consulting, or a combination of both.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Experience supporting general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial close activities.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with process improvement, automation tools, or system implementations is preferred.
- CPA, CPA-track, or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
