The Operating Room team at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment where nurses play an essential role in delivering exceptional surgical care. With 13 operating rooms and approximately 15-30 cases performed daily, team members gain diverse procedural experience while working alongside skilled surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff.

How you'll contribute

A Managerwho excels in this role:
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures.
  • Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards.
  • Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:
  • Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • Operating Room Manager experience preferred.
  • Three or more years of Operating Room RN experience required.
