The Health Information Manager will lead day-to-day HIM operations across multiple locations:
- overseeing legal medical records
- record completion
- release of information
- documentation compliance
- medical record integrity
- workflow optimization
- regulatory compliance
This individual will also manage a large HIM team, drive process improvement initiatives, partner with IT on EHR optimization, and serve as the primary HIM liaison across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information or related field
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as a Supervisor, Manager, or Director
- Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of: HIM operations HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, and regulatory compliance
- Release of Information (ROI) and legal medical records
- Documentation compliance
- EHR implementation/optimization
- Medical record integrity
- Budgeting, staffing, productivity, and operational management
- General knowledge of coding
