About The Role:

The Oil & Gas Marketing Specialist will be expected to provide marketing direction and support globally for the Drilling & Gas Compression segments. They will actively be participating in the organization’s strategy, communications, brand management as well as event planning and coordination. They will be responsible for external communications, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders in implementing and executing the company’s marketing and communications plan for these segments.

This role will be responsible for creating and managing the marketing communications plan based on the overall business strategy for a global market. This role is supported by senior marketing staff to help analyze business trends, customer needs and competitive activities to develop a marketing communications plan to support worldwide business development for the segments. A critical function of this position is the cooperation with internal and external MarCom specialists delivering high quality marketing support materials on time and within budget. This role works directly with the sales, services, product and marketing teams to develop communication objectives and marketing plans for assigned segment strategies.

What You Will Do:

· Develop, implement, and oversee omni channel marketing & communications strategy, media & communication plans, timelines, and budgets to deliver on the vision and business strategy.

· Creates, leads, and manages marketing campaigns from planning to analysis.

· Work with the central marcom teams to educate them on segment goals and strategy, and ensure that each team is aware, able and ready to deliver their part of the experience.

· Position Caterpillar Oil & Gas as a thought leader with a reputation for delivering highly knowledgeable, outcome-driven solutions to the industry.

· Identify targeted audiences and channels. Develop, coordinate, and implement targeted content and storyline through external communications channels and materials to position Caterpillar as the partner of choice for key industry players and end-customers, encourage partnerships to increase circularity, and establish coherent messaging and brand equity. Materials can include success stories, press and product releases, interviews, customer presentations, speeches and presentations for conferences, podcasts, market collaterals etc.

· Ensure sound communication across multiple and appropriate trade media in line with the overall communications strategy to extend Caterpillar’s visibility.

· Participate in the coordination of conferences and tradeshows, community engagement, experiential advertising.

· Provide input to the editorial calendar of content to support your segment, which includes email campaigns, social media planning, blog content, podcasts, etc.

· Support the go-to-market strategy for innovations (products, processes, solutions) by highlighting the unique value proposition and position Caterpillar Oil & Gas as a solution provider.

· Create promotional activities using events, online campaigns, print media, digital media, and other communication vehicles to promote products, services and systems.

· Cooperate closely with the corporate MarCom team, utilize internal marketing and communications specialists for segment specific tasks and act as main global point of contact.

· Ensure effective cascade across the organization through close collaboration with the business, global dealers, and Caterpillar’s key customers.

· Measure, review, report and evaluate results of marketing activities continually.

What You Will Have:

· Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

· Global Perspective: Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.

Preferred Experience:

· Minimum of five years’ experience in marketing, preferably in high-velocity B2B environment.

· Understanding/experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred.

· Demonstrate record of accomplishment in the development and execution of marketing campaigns.

· Excellent/pragmatic verbal and written communication skills—clear, direct, concise.

· Ability to convert consumer insights and technical information into customer value and innovative marketing programs that deliver.

· Working knowledge of content creation strategy, e-communications production, social media strategy and management.

· Good experience in PR and press / media relations.

· Strong computer and technology skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Self-organized, proactive, and an excellent communicator.

· Ability to multitask and achieve results through managing others within a global matrix organization.

· Experience directing and managing agency marketing support.

· Solid project management, organization, and analytical skills.


 

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
