Position: Office Engineer - NYSDOT
Reports to: Project Manager/Resident Engineer
General Qualities:
- Proactive self-starter capable of setting a positive example for the staff.
- Provides technical support to the Project Manager/Resident Engineer.
- Has full technical and administrative responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating projects/assignments.
- Strong Written and Oral communication skills.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Track quality assurance and certification paperwork.
- Maintain RFI, submittals, and change order logs.
- Perform duties involving requirements to provide document control services.
- Perform engineering calculations related to quantities and payments.
- Proofread inspection reports.
- Prepare and submit change orders and force account charges.
- Prepare monthly construction estimates and payments.

- Keep office records, tracking delay, and submittal logs.
- Review and monitor inspector's reports, quantities, and cost.
- Coordination between City agencies and private utility companies.
- Process of close-out documentations.
- Track Punch list items.
- Prepare as built drawings.
- Prepare progress reports and meeting minutes.
- Responsive to Client and other KSE Department needs.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Familiar with all company policies and procedures and verifies implementation and compliance.
- Completes time sheet daily.
Requirements
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related from an accredited College.
Experience:
- At least 4 to 5 years of NYSDOT Experience. Experience with NYSDOT program Site Manager.
- Additional construction certifications such as NICET III Preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods (often 6-8 hours a day).
- Maintaining posture while working at a computer.
- Short periods of standing or walking within the office (to printers, meeting rooms, etc.).

- Actively participates in professional development and training and licensing.
Salary Description
$61 - $65 per hour
