Overview
The CTA Curbside Improvement Program Office Engineer provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management as well as construction management support. Supports the project management team (project manager, assistant PM, construction manager, design manager, etc.). This is a Monday-Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site at LAX.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties
- Assist the CTA Curbside Improvement Program in the receipt, distribution and maintenance of submittals. Perform construction contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into PM Web, and prepare management information status report, as required.
- Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web, the project information system.
- Maintain project files and document / submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies). Work with the Contractor(s) to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner. Distribute documents, submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to Contractor(s).
- Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings.
- Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as: attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes), perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain an expediting log; etc.
Qualifications
Hardware/Software Knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
- Ability to work in PM Web preferred.
Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications
- 5 years or more experience, preferably on airport projects.
- Experience with projects more than $50 million in value.
- Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
Education/Training
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or other related field.
- Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional license or certifications.

Wage Data Per State Requirements
Salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
