Job Description and Responsibilities

This is a full-time, on-site role as an Occupational Therapist (OT) serving a school located in Las Vegas, NM.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for providing therapy services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.

Position Details

  • Full-time opportunity with a 37.5-hour work week
  • Supporting students in Kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Caseload distributed across up to five school sites
  • Limited hybrid flexibility available for IEP meetings and documentation, based on district needs
  • Responsibilities include direct therapy services, evaluations, consultation, and case management
  • Guaranteed paid hours covering direct services, documentation, planning, and administrative responsibilities
  • Primarily an on-site, in-person school-based position
  • Reasonable, well-supported caseloads
  • Ongoing collaboration and support from both the partnering district and the TheraPeds Partners team
  • Competitive compensation of $50-$65+ per hour (approximately $1,800-$2,400+ per week)


Qualifications
  • BS, Master's, OTD, or PhD in Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited university
  • State License as Occupational Therapist
  • NBCOT License
  • Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required
  • Experience working with children
  • Strong foundation in Sensory Integration and ability to identify and analyze areas of developmental and sensory-motor dysfunction
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications


Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
