Responsibilities of an Occupational Therapist:
Assess patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify challenges in daily activities
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve independence and quality of life
Help patients relearn or adapt skills needed for daily living, school, work, or play
Recommend and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment or assistive technology
Monitor progress and adjust therapy plans based on patient needs and goals
Collaborate with families, teachers, doctors, and other professionals to support patient outcomes
Qualifications for an Occupational Therapist:
Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an approved school.
Demonstrates competence in assessing, analyzing, and utilizing data for the purpose of obtaining information necessary for effective decision making and performance improvement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
