Onsite Position Summary RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide school-based services. In this role, you will support students by evaluating, developing, and implementing occupational therapy interventions that promote fine motor development, sensory integration, self-care skills, and academic readiness. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate closely with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive the support needed to achieve their educational goals. This is a full-time contract opportunity working 5 days per week for the school year
Responsibilities Schedule / Shift - Shift details: School-based, 5 days per week
- Hours per week: Full-time, 35 hours per week
- Contract length (if applicable): full school year
Key Duties - Conduct occupational therapy assessments and evaluations for referred students and provide recommendations for services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and IEP goals for students receiving occupational therapy services.
- Provide individual and small-group occupational therapy interventions focused on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, social-emotional readiness, and academic participation.
- Collaborate with Child Study Team members, educators, administrators, and families to support student success and compliance with special education requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, confidential records, and compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
Requirements Education - Required: Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Preferred: School-based pediatric experience
Licenses & Certifications - Required: Active New Jersey Occupational Therapist License
- Required: New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) Certification
- Required: Successful criminal background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal work authorization
Skills - Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of IDEA, special education regulations, and occupational therapy best practices
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement effective therapeutic interventions for school-aged students
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse school community and multidisciplinary team environment
