Hiring Range

$91,000.00 - $125,125.00/Annual Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Overview
An Occupational Therapist will follow appropriate practices to perform evaluations, timely re-evaluations and OASIS assessments, determine OT diagnoses, develop a plan of care with updates at appropriate time points, and perform occupational therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, improving health, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disability. A staff Occupational Therapist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age, goal, and diagnosis appropriate care. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development throughout the life span, be able to assess patients' needs and status by analyzing evaluated data, and be able to interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care accordingly per patient care setting. The Therapist is required to be flexible with daily scheduling and may be required to work various patient care settings.

What you will do
  • Performs evaluations, determines OT diagnoses, develops plan of care, and performs occupational therapy procedures to aid in restoring function, improving mobility, relieving pain, improving health, and preventing or limiting permanent physical disability. Evaluates and assesses the patient timely, based on principles outlined by practice guidelines, evidence based guidelines and regulatory standards (state & organizational policies, requirements of accrediting bodies, etc.)
  • Completes reassessments including OASIS assessments at appropriate time points to determine level of functioning. Updates and revises the plan of care in consultation with the physician and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provides therapeutic treatments and evaluation of equipment needs as applicable. Prepares clinical and progress notes that support skilled interventions and assesses outcomes of care. Plans for discharge of patient.
  • Builds trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Coordinates the Occupational Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides and services including completion of required supervisory visit documentation. Participates in training and support of all team members, volunteers and students as needed.
  • Carries out treatment plan effectively and modifies to maximize therapeutic benefit and meet discharge criteria and return to optimal level of care. Utilizes testing results and develops updated plan of care based on principles outlined in appropriate evidence based guidelines.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelors Degree, Occupational Therapy (Required) or
  • Masters Degree, Occupational Therapy (Required) or
  • Doctoral Degree, Occupational Therapy (Required)

Experience
  • 1 year Occupational Therapy experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
  • License Occupational Therapy (OT) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required) and
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required) and
  • License Occupational Therapy (OTR) - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Inc (NBCOT) (Preferred)
  • Drives personal vehicle for RHS business 25% or more of the time to perform essential functions of the job
  • Valid Drivers License Required
