Occupational Therapist

Up to $38-42/hour | Bessemer, AL | Full-Time Hours | 2026-2027 School Year | Full-time contract position where you will provide occupational therapy assessments and services that empower students to actively participate in and benefit from their special education program while supporting their academic and functional success.

Position Details:
  • Caseload within Bessemer City Schools District
  • Full Time - Starting August 2026
  • 1.0 FTE, M-F
About the Role

Hello, Occupational Therapists! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist for a caseload within Bessemer City Schools District. In this role, you'll play a critical part in student success by conducting evaluations, supporting IEP development, and collaborating with school teams. This is a great fit for both experienced school-based OTs and those transitioning into schools.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
  • Active (or eligible) Alabama State OT license
  • National Board Certification in Occupational therapy
  • Master's Degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive devices for students with special needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • School-based experience preferred, not required
