Job DescriptionMedical Director, Occupational Medicine for Centra HealthWorksWe are seeking a natural leader to help build HealthWorks growing employer-based healthcare service line as Medical Director.
The Healthworks Medical Director, in collaboration with the Operational Director, functions as a Dyad Leader to provide clinical and operational guidance and leadership. Key roles and responsibilities include the delivery of high-quality clinical care across all Healthworks service lines, which include:
- Occupational Medicine and Wellness Services to Area Business and Industry
- Centra's Employee Health Hospital Based Clinics
- HealthWorks Physical Therapy and Industrial Rehabilitation
- Employee Assistance Programs
- Medical oversite of Onsite Employer Clinics
ResponsibilitiesAdministratively:- Supports, leads and models the vision, mission and values of Centra and HealthWorks
- Provides strategic system leadership for the HealthWorks service line
- May oversee and provide evidence-based process improvement recommendations to ensure safe high-quality care and support prevention efforts
- Participates in the development of policies and guidelines meet occupational health goals.
- Participates in the Client/Employer relationship/marketing processes
Clinically:- Provides oversight for PAs and NPs.
- Directly participates in patient care and supervision:
- Occupational Medicine pre-employment, medical surveillance, qualification and exposure evaluations, audiometric reviews, return to work and fitness for duty visits, DOT examinations and Medical Review Officer duties.
- Workers' compensation evaluations for work related illness and injuries, hazard evaluations, and medical oversight for Abbott Industry and Sweet Briar Student Health Clinic and Athletic Trainer.
- Nearsight Clinic Visits to provide episodic care to City Workers

- 16-20 hours patient facing and Medical Review Officer duties

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- MD/DO
- Board Certified/Eligible in Occupational Medicine or Emergency, Family, or Internal Medicine with experience in Occupational Medicine and Employee Health
- Medical Review Officer (MRO) Certification
- FMCSA DOT Medical Examiner Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of workers' compensation, DOT, OSHA and other applicable legislative regulations, Fitness for Duty and Independent medical Evaluations, employee health and exposure management.
