Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Looking for an O365 Migration SME, you will serve as the technical lead for complex Tenant-to-Tenant (T2T) and legacy-to-cloud migrations during corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. You are responsible for architecting the migration strategy, building execution runbooks, and ensuring secure, compliant data transitions across all core Microsoft 365 workloads with zero business disruption. O365 migration expert will Develop detailed plan and timelines for migrations of Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint. Critical path items and migration tooling.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Discovery: Conduct thorough pre-migration assessments of source and target tenants to map identity infrastructure (Active Directory / Entra ID) and identify domain dependencies.
Execution & Runbooks: Develop detailed technical migration plans, project timelines, and wave-based cutover schedules for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
Automation & Scripting: Write and maintain advanced PowerShell scripts to automate migration tasks, configure cross-tenant permissions, and generate audit reports.
Change Management: Partner with cross-functional M&A teams (HR, Legal, Security, and Corporate Communications) to drive user adoption and provide post-migration tier-3 support.

Critical Path Items
Tenant Readiness & Trust: Establishing cross-tenant organization relationships and configuring free/busy calendar sharing between the source and target organizations.
Directory & Identity Synchronization: Mapping user identities, establishing hybrid identity management, and performing User Principal Name (UPN) suffixes updates.
Domain Cutover & DNS Routing: Migrating email domains, MX records, and establishing proper routing protocols to ensure continuous email flow.
Data Seeding & Delta Syncs: Conducting bulk, behind-the-scenes data migrations (pre-syncing) while keeping changes synced up to the final cutover weekend.
Post-Migration Validation: Verifying permissions, device re-authentication, and performing post-merger operational stabilization.

Required Migration Tooling
Email & Workloads: Quest On Demand Migration, BitTitan MigrationWiz, or AvePoint.
SharePoint, Teams, & OneDrive: ShareGate, AvePoint Fly, or Microsoft Migration Manager.
Identity / Directory: Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD Connect / Entra Connect, and Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).

Required Qualifications
Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in M365 infrastructure and cloud roles, with at least 3 years specifically dedicated to tenant-to-tenant M&A migrations.
Technical Depth: Expert-level knowledge of DNS configuration, firewalls, and modern authentication/Zero Trust principles.

Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-102) or equivalent, active PMP certification is a strong plus.
