THESE ARE THE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A NUTANIX RESIDENT ENGINEER: - Implement, and manage Nutanix core infrastructure with emphasis on AHV
- Administer and support VMware ESXi environments where required
- Work with Nutanix NX and HPE hardware for deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Perform rack and stack of 1U and 2U nodes as needed during onsite rotations
- Implement and manage backup solutions such as Veeam or similar tools
- Develop standard operating procedures and maintain accurate documentation
- Create elevation diagrams and related architecture visuals using Visio
- Troubleshoot complex compute, storage, virtualization, and hardware issues
- Plan and support disaster recovery capabilities and exercises
- Lead migrations of workloads from legacy platforms to Nutanix AHV
- Complete assigned work with minimal supervision and maintain accountability for outcomes
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders across technical and nontechnical teams
- Coach and train existing staff with patience and clarity
- Participate in an on-site rotation one week per month to support hands-on operational needs
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and change management requirements
YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE EVERYTHING ABOVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE LIKE: - Strong hands-on experience with Nutanix core technologies and AHV
- Strong experience with VMware ESXi
- Experience with Nutanix NX and HPE server hardware
- Experience with enterprise backup solutions, preferably Veeam
- Proven ability to create technical documentation and diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across multiple infrastructure layers
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution
- Understanding of workload migration processes to Nutanix AHV
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to rack and stack 1U and 2U hardware
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coach and guide team members
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Nutanix certifications, such as NCP or NCAP
- Experience with automation or scripting
- Experience supporting large-scale or mission-critical environments
- Familiarity with Rancher and containerized environments is a plus.
