Job Description

This Nursing Education Specialist (NES) position will support Medical Oncology (Ei 43/44) and Radiation Oncology, along with supporting the Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Division.

The NES works collaboratively to assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs. Roles of the NES include learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development specialty and partner for practice transitions.

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

Master's or doctoral degree in nursing or an associate or bachelor's degree in Nursing with a master's/doctoral degree in healthcare/education related field. Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing education is preferred.

Will consider applicants meeting all other qualifications who commit to degree completion within six months from application date.

Additional Qualifications:
Experience in educational programming. Demonstrated teaching skills. Certification in nursing professional development is preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) competency is highly recommended.

Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.

License or Certification:
Current RN license by applicable state requirements.

Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty training as required by the work area and recognized on the DON approved credentials list.
