Nursing Assistant Primary Instructor (RN)

Location: Roseburg, OR
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Thursday | Flexible schedule
Pay: $45.00/HR-$50.00/HR (DOE)

Volare Health is seeking a motivated and experienced Nursing Assistant Primary Instructor to join our team in Roseburg, Oregon. The Primary Instructor is responsible for teaching the Nursing Assistant (NA) course curriculum as outlined by the Program Director and for supervising and evaluating students as they develop and demonstrate clinical skills in both the laboratory and clinical settings.

This role plays an important part in preparing future nursing assistants to provide safe, compassionate, and professional care to residents in a long-term care environment. The Primary Instructor will help students develop skill competency, clinical reasoning, professionalism, and confidence while ensuring the NA program meets applicable Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) requirements. The Primary Instructor works under the supervision and direction of the NA Program Director and collaborates closely with facility leadership and staff.

Essential Functions

  • Teach the Nursing Assistant course curriculum as outlined by the NA Program Director.
  • Supervise, instruct, and evaluate students as they practice clinical skills in the laboratory and clinical setting.
  • Assist students in applying knowledge and skills learned during NA training to the care of residents in a long-term care facility.
  • Ensure compliance with NA program requirements established by the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN).
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and safety requirements of the clinical site.
  • Provide daily pre- and post-clinical conferences with students.
  • Coordinate with facility staff to provide appropriate clinical assignments, learning experiences, and skill competencies in accordance with the NA course curriculum.
  • Assist with curriculum and academic resource development, evaluation, and revision as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining, updating, and organizing records required for program and site reviews.
  • Prepare for NA cohorts before, during, and after each course, including printing orientation and classroom materials, organizing student files, auditing files, and gathering and organizing laboratory supplies.
  • Assist with coordinating the scheduling of classes and clinical experiences at each assigned location.
  • Work closely with facility leadership and staff to incorporate organizational core values, key policies, and processes into the NA program curriculum whenever appropriate.
  • Provide input and recommendations regarding potential candidates for employment with participating facilities.
  • Maintain awareness of open positions and specific candidate requests as communicated by facility leadership.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and quality resident care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the NA Program Director.

Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Ability to meet all applicable requirements for serving as a Nursing Assistant instructor under OSBN regulations.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Nursing Assistant/CNA instructor.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Long-term care, skilled nursing, or clinical education experience.
  • Experience supervising, evaluating, or mentoring nursing assistant students.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical knowledge and nursing skills.

  • Ability to teach and demonstrate clinical skills effectively.
