Full Job Description
The Nursery Manager is a key leadership role in Weyerhaeuser's Southern Regeneration business, based in Aiken, South Carolina, and reporting to the Director of Silviculture and Regeneration. You will lead the nursery's operational and financial performance, develop the team, and execute strategy across crop production, safety, compliance, customers, facilities, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and influence strategic management activities, including environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Oversee planning and execution of sowing, culture, crop management, crop protection, and harvest.
  • Manage and develop production specialists and nursery technicians.
  • Lead budgeting, purchasing, site protection, and customer support in partnership with sales.
  • Assess activities affecting seed efficiency and create action plans to address deficiencies.
  • Administer contracts for nursery activities such as fumigation, harvest, and weed control.
  • Develop facility and equipment maintenance and capital replacement plans.
  • Keep required federal, state, and corporate permits and licenses current.
  • Maintain an effective relationship with the Nursery Cooperative.
  • Engage customers regarding seedling needs and seedling performance.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • One of the following education and related-experience combinations in Forestry, Agricultural Engineering, Soil Science, or Agronomy: BS degree; MS degree; or AAS degree plus at least five years of related work experience.
  • Ability to live within one hour of the Aiken Nursery.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Desire and ability to inspire and lead a diverse team to achieve and exceed expectations.
  • Excellent communication, time-management, and negotiation skills.
  • Solid business and financial understanding, including P&L drivers, budgeting, administration, and capital implementation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship and safety.
  • Experience operating tractors and implements.
  • Proven experience in situational management, coaching, and team building.
  • Background in loblolly pine crop establishment, development, and harvest.
  • Understanding of and commitment to customer value delivery expectations.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications

What We Offer...
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $90,244 - $135,509 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
