About the Position: The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations and supervising nursing staff within the Nursing Home Division at East Mississippi State Hospital. Functioning as a second-level nurse manager, this position provides leadership, clinical oversight, and operational support to help ensure safe, effective, and organized delivery of nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting. The Nurse Supervisor reviews nursing documentation and care processes, assists with staffing coordination, supports compliance with applicable standards, and works closely with the Nurse Manager, Nursing Home Administrator, and interdisciplinary team to promote quality care, staff accountability, regulatory compliance, and positive resident outcomes.
What you'll need to be Successful: To be successful in this position, the employee must demonstrate strong clinical leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to direct nursing services in a safe, effective, and organized manner within a nursing home environment. The employee should be able to supervise nursing staff, review documentation and care processes, coordinate resident care across shifts and disciplines, and respond appropriately to clinical, staffing, and operational issues. Success in this role also requires accountability, professionalism, schedule reliability, effective communication, and a strong commitment to quality care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and positive resident outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires state licensure as a Registered Nurse, 3-5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse, and 2-4 years of experience supervising nurses.
