Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Day Full Time NICU Nurse Shift Manager, you will help our nursing staff provide exceptional patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit so they can ensure the highest standards of safety and well-being for our patients.
Every day you will supervise and assign nursing staff, monitor patient conditions, and educate staff on best practices. You will be expected to proactively manage staffing needs, maintain supply levels, and ensure accurate patient records for seamless operations.
To be successful in this role you must possess a strong clinical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage a fast-paced, critical care environment with precision and empathy.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift.
- Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level
- Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care
- Institutes emergency procedures as necessary
- Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
- Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Our Level 3 NICU offers 16 new private rooms and eight 3-bed pods, with sleep chairs for parents to stay 24/7. We utilize state-of-the-art Giraffe Omni beds, Babylog VN500 vents, and HFOVs to care for infants weighing as little as 450 grams. We provide whole body cooling for infants with HIE and Nitric Oxide for PPHN in extremely sick newborns. Our NICU also features an infant nutrition room, staffed with technicians who prepare donor and expressed breast milk for daily feedings. We encourage you to visit our unit and meet our team!

Job Requirements
Required:
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience RN experience in NICU.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (e.g., ADN).
- Current CA RN license
- Current American Heart Association BLS and NRP certificate
- RNC-NIC within 12 months of hire
- Current Bachelors in nursing (BSN) or related healthcare field preferred
- Completion of Bachelors in nursing (BSN) or related field within 3 years of hire
