Responsibilities River Vista Behavioral Health sits along the bluffs overlooking the San Joaquin River, this brand new, 128-bed facility, will provide high-quality and advanced behavioral health services to residents and visitors in the Central Valley. The new hospital will employ more than 250 people, including clinicians, nurses, mental health technicians, support staff and administration.
We are currently seeking a compassionate and talented
Nurse Practitioner(NP) to be part of our Medical Staff Team. The Nurse Practitioner diagnose and provide emergency psychiatric services, physical and psychosocial examination for in-patient and outpatient patients.
QUALIFICATIONS Education: master's degree from an accredited nursing program .
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a psychiatric/behavioral health-care facility preferred .
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the California State Board of Nursing . CPR certification and successful completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training. CPI Training may be obtained during new hire orientation.
Qualifications Main Responsibilities :
- Provide psychiatric and psychosocial services, physical and psychosocial examinations to all patients.
- Develop appropriate treatment plans and provides effective management of patient care with proper evaluation.
- Performs group or individual therapy and assessments.
- Provide staff and family consultation around medications and other clinical concerns.
- Collaborates with all members of healthcare team
- Promote evidenced-based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
- Responsible for providing in-patient care to patients showing a change or decline in mental status, chronic or urgent medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications within the facility's policy, formulary and relevant regulations of the state.
- Consult with attending physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualifications id psychiatric NP.
- Provide consultation to the Nursing, Intake, and Medical Staff for improvement in their work performance, which enhance overall quality service delivery of the care.
Additional Requirements: A thorough knowledge of TJC, Medicare, OSHA regulations and all other state and federal regulatory standards. Possess strong understanding of societies and their impact on mental health.
A strong knowledge of The Joint Commission, HCFA, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
