Job DescriptionAtlantic Health System is Seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (NP or PA) for Gastroenterology (IBD) in Summit, New JerseyAtlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare systems, is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (NP or PA) to join Atlantic Medical Group GI at Summit located on the Overlook Medical Center campus. The Atlantic Medical Group Gastroenterology program is growing and is expanding the IBD Program. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in GI, or another subspecialty, with an interest in IBD. This position offers a great work/life balance with a Monday-Friday schedule and no weekends or call. This position entails both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities at Overlook Medical Center.
Responsibilities- Advocate for patients, family members, and nursing personnel
- Support policy and services that advocate for patient rights and optimal environments of healthcare
- Develop plans of care and implementation of treatment
- Perform evidence-based interventions consistent with patient/family needs
- Evaluate effectiveness of interventions for resolution or preventing patient care problems
- Document appropriately in the medical record; discharge summaries for distribution to collaborating and referring physicians
- Manage and assist to meet health education needs of patient and families
- Initiate consultation and referrals to appropriate specialty providers when indicated
- Collaborate with other disciplines in consultation, teaching, management, and research activities to improve outcomes in nursing practice and enhance the healthcare environment
- Prioritize daily tasks and assignments
- Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
- Engage in critical analysis of own practice experience and the medical literature for the purposes of self and practice improvement
- Pursue and participate in formal and independent learning activities to enhance knowledge, clinical competency, and professional development
QualificationsQualifications- Master's degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- 3-5 years of Gastroenterology experience preferred
- Medical Sub-Specialty experience preferred
- Must have excellent communication and computer skills
- Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
