QualificationsExperience and Skills - Strong interest in hospital medicine and inpatient clinical care
- Ability to manage medically complex adult patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple patient-care responsibilities
- Commitment to high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered care
- Interest in supporting program growth and clinical improvement initiatives
- Previous hospitalist, internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, or other inpatient experience preferred
Qualifications - Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current or eligible South Carolina Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
- Certification appropriate for the patient population and inpatient scope of practice
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS certification required or obtained within the designated onboarding period
- Prescriptive authority and DEA registration as required for the position
- Ability to meet Novant Health credentialing and medical staff requirements
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive inpatient care in collaboration with the Hospital Medicine team
- Complete patient evaluations, histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
- Manage admissions, daily rounding, and discharges with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory testing, and medications within the scope of practice
- Respond to changes in patients' clinical conditions and coordinate escalation of care when appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nursing, pharmacy, care management, rehabilitation services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Support transitions of care and communication with outpatient providers
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and hospital-based initiatives
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of Hospital Medicine services
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Novant Health's standards for patient-centered care
