Role and Facility Information

North Island Medical Clinic (NIMC) is looking for a 1.0 FTE Nurse Practitioner to join its team. NIMC provides specialized service in providing wrap-around care to those are marginalized and vulnerable and focus on low barrier access to primary care for those struggling with mental health, substance use issues, homelessness, and racism.

The clinic is a collaborative team of Nurse Practitioners and Family Physicians, including a Social Worker, Registered Nurses, and a Clinical Pharmacist. Many of the people who access care at our clinic face systemic barriers within the health care system and we work as a team to ensure we are reducing these barriers so people may access culturally safe and trauma-informed care. In applying for this position, you would bring compassion and strong desire to work with those who are vulnerable and marginalized.

Training and experience:

A willingness to work with marginalized and vulnerable populations from a trauma-informed lens.

OAT training is an asset, but not required.

Campbell River is a beautiful coastal town in the heart of the North Island.
