Description:

CapitalCare is currently recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner to manage the medical needs of continuing care residents and post-acute rehabilitation patients. The Nurse Practitioner role is to promote excellence in clinical practice, utilizing a comprehensive knowledge base and an excellent ability to apply it to the clinical setting. Your primary responsibility as a Nurse Practitioner is to provide comprehensive direct resident and patient care to the continuing care and post-acute population in consultation with the older adult and post-acute physician teams. You will be required to perform comprehensive assessments, diagnosis (including ordering and interpretation of test results), interventions (including prescribing of medications), management, referral and evaluation of patient care. You will also be expected to provide leadership and participate in program development and evaluation, research and clinical teaching activities. You will consistently exercise a leadership role in utilizing best practice and promote excellence in clinical practice, utilizing a comprehensive knowledge base and an excellent ability to apply it to the clinical setting. In addition, you will provide expert clinical care in managing the health needs of individuals, families and communities and require further knowledge and decision making in assessment, diagnosis and clinical management. This position functions as part of an interdisciplinary team and utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills to provide care to individuals, families, groups and communities.

Qualifications:

- Graduation from a recognized Nursing education program. - A master's degree in nursing with a focus on Family/All Ages or Adult Stream of Practice. - Must have current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). - Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification and ACLS are required. - Computer literacy skills mandatory (Connect Care, NetCare).
