Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Clinical Operations for the Family Birthing Center (FBC) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is responsible for coordinating and optimizing nursing care resources to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This position provides leadership, clinical expertise, and operational support to the FBC and NICU staff, promoting effective care delivery and patient flow. The Manager collaborates with staff and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and maintain a positive care environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and deploy nursing care resources within the Family Birthing Room to ensure optimal patient care and workflow.
  • Provide direct support and guidance to nursing staff, acting as a clinical expert and mentor.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes and streamline care delivery processes.
  • Monitor and maintain quality standards in patient care, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
  • Address patient and family concerns promptly, fostering a culture of compassionate care.
  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, including patient flow, staffing assignments, and resource allocation.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and ensure staff adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Facilitate staff education and development to maintain clinical competency and professional growth.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of clinical and operational activities.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required); Master's Degree in Nursing or related field (preferred).
  • Current Connecticut RN License, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required), Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (preferred or obtained within 12 months of hire), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience (required); supervisory or management experience (preferred).
