Description:Position Summary:To facilitate the day-to-day operations, lead, develop and represent the department in the service line initiatives. The registered professional is also accountable for the management of patient care during a designated time frame. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members.
What the Nurse Manager will Need:Education
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
Licensure
- Current Michigan License.
- Current BCLS.
Training and Experience
- Successful completion of nursing orientation
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the department.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in management.
What the Nurse Manager will Do:- Incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of St. Mary Mercy Hospital in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Demonstrates customer focused interpersonal skills in order to lead, interact and collaborate with hospital personnel, surgeons, anesthesia providers and customers
- Works with the Director of Perioperative Services to develop and support service line and strategic plan initiatives for the Outpatient Surgery Center
- Actively participates with the Medical Director of the Outpatient Surgery Center to identify and prioritize key initiatives and special projects.
- Demonstrates ability to utilize critical thinking; to identify and solve problems and implement solutions.
- Develops and implements effective ongoing communication process for optimal distribution of information within nursing service, among physicians and other health team members and hospital departments.
