Description:

Position Summary:

To facilitate the day-to-day operations, lead, develop and represent the department in the service line initiatives. The registered professional is also accountable for the management of patient care during a designated time frame. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members.

What the Nurse Manager will Need:

Education
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

Licensure
  • Current Michigan License.
  • Current BCLS.

Training and Experience
  • Successful completion of nursing orientation
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the department.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in management.


What the Nurse Manager will Do:
  • Incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of St. Mary Mercy Hospital in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Demonstrates customer focused interpersonal skills in order to lead, interact and collaborate with hospital personnel, surgeons, anesthesia providers and customers
  • Works with the Director of Perioperative Services to develop and support service line and strategic plan initiatives for the Outpatient Surgery Center
  • Actively participates with the Medical Director of the Outpatient Surgery Center to identify and prioritize key initiatives and special projects.
  • Demonstrates ability to utilize critical thinking; to identify and solve problems and implement solutions.
  • Develops and implements effective ongoing communication process for optimal distribution of information within nursing service, among physicians and other health team members and hospital departments.
