Responsibilities

The Nurse Manager (NM) 6 Critical Care provides 24/7 clinical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, and patient-centered emergency care. The NM is accountable for the execution, monitoring, and reliability of Critical Care processes that impact patient experience, quality outcomes, patient safety, staffing effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and departmental throughput.This role maintains a visible, hands-on leadership presence across shifts and serves as the operational authority during assigned coverage. The Nurse Manager supports real-time decision-making in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment to promote patient flow, quality outcomes, and service excellence.The NM provides direct supervision and leadership to nursing and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development. Responsibilities include staff coaching, performance management, operational oversight, and ensuring adherence to clinical standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.The Nurse Manager collaborates closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary leadership to translate organizational priorities into consistent front-linea0practice. The role supports American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) principles through staff engagement, shared governance, accountability, and continuous quality improvement.The NM actively participates in nursing and hospital-wide initiatives, including professional development, shared governance activities, and performance improvement efforts that advance patient care and organizational excellence.

Qualifications
