Job Description

Involves the provision of integrated and accessible primary and specialty patient care services in a clinic or center environment. Care is provided by clinicians and assistants who are accountable for addressing a large majority of personal health care needs and developing a sustainable partnership with patients. Ensures optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and / or provision of patient care delivery in healthcare clinics or centers. Promotes shared decision-making at all levels to ensure a shared voice in practices, exchange of ideas, enhanced communication, and continually improved patient services. Management levels may also be responsible for clinic operations. (Note, for only clinic operations, see Ambulatory Administration job function.) The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing.Registered Nurse in the State of California and / or licensure in relevant clinical specialty.BLSPALSCPHON (or must be obtained within 6 months of hire)Strong clinic / center patient care management skills. Practice management knowledge in scheduling, customer-service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and / or information technology. Broad knowledge of patient population served and the requirements for the delivery of services.Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making.Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, and staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration, and coKnowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree preferred.Certified Pediatric Nurse or Pediatric Nursing Certification (PED-BC)Knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in the clinic / center healthcare industry.3-5 years of pediatric clinical experience2-3 years of progressive supervisory experience

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
