Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services, has 24 hour line responsibility for the management of the daily patient flow, personnel work schedules, the assignment of case personnel, and the insurance of equipment and supply availability in the P.A.C.U. Participates in the budget, hiring and evaluating processes. Accepts clinical assignments and acts as preceptor for orientees.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education
o Graduate of accredited program for professional nurses.
o Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
o Coursework in business, public health, or healthcare administration preferred.
• Experience
o Minimum three years of surgical day care
OR
o PACU experience required.
o Previous management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
o Must have demonstrated leadership experience.
• Licensure and/or Certification
o Current license as a professional nurse in Massachusetts required. 0 ACLS required.
o PALS required.
• Skills
o Advanced nursing skills.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
o Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
o Excellent customer service skills
o Ability to manage multiple priorities.
o Strong administrative, analytical and critical thinking skills.
o Proven leadership skills with experience in strategic planning and service development.
o Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
o Ability to maintain confidential information required.
