Job SummaryThe Nurse Manager leads a team of dedicated RN's, LPN's and Medication Aides in a residential substance use disorder treatment setting.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in planning, priority setting, and the development/implementation of policies and procedures for health care activities that comply with facility and contractual requirements as well as State, DEA, and CARF standards.
- Support the development, provision, and evaluation of patient care according to the standards of nursing practice in the state of Virginia.
- Support recruitment/retention efforts for nursing service.
- Prepare/submit reports as requested.
- On-going chart reviews to ensure compliance with Federal/State/regulatory requirements.
- Provide training, consultation and direction in dealing with difficult clients.
- Participation/leadership in treatment team meetings as well as grievance and appeals meeting.
- Participate in ongoing training per program/State/Federal requirements.
- Participate in ongoing in-house training requirements.
- Provides education and training to new hires and current staff.
- Acts as a facilitator of standard nursing practices.
- Perform rounds, standard nursing evaluation tests such as blood pressures, temperatures, drawing blood for laboratory testing; assesses conditions; dispenses medication as needed.
- Provides input into the daily and annual operations of the nursing department.
- Monitors nursing operations measures monthly.
- Perform other functions related to the position as required.
Minimum QualificationsEducation / Credentials- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Virginia.
Experience- 1+ years of supervisory experience in an inpatient/residential substance use disorder treatment setting preferred.
Knowledge / Skills- Supervisory skills required.
- Leadership skills in decision making and problem solving.
- Knowledge of CARF accreditation requirements.
- Knowledge of all aspects of holistic addiction treatment clinical care requirements.
- Ability to develop and implement holistic clinical program for patients with substance use disorder.
- Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
Working Conditions- Direct care position
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-7:00pm, some weekends, holidays and on-call work required
