Shift Options: 7:00 AM - 7 PM, Days/Nights
Purpose: A Nurse Manager, or Nurse Supervisor, oversees a team of nurses as they provide healthcare services to patients and manage their records. Responsible for daily operations of the Nursing Department, including staff supervision, clinical oversight, and scheduling.
Responsibilities:- Promote and restore patients' health by developing day to day management and long-term planning of the patient's care
- Direct and develop nursing staff by creating schedules, offering advice, and answering any health-related questions
- Provide physical and psychological support for patients, as well as their friends and families
- Maintain the nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
- Supervises activities of RN's, LPNs, and Team Assistants
- Maintain nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and auxiliary staff
- Round with Physicians and/or Nurse Practitioners
- Completed patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff
- Maintains nursing staff by coaching, counseling, and discipling through monitoring and appraising nurses job performance
- Provide information to patients and the health care team by answering questions and requests
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by designing heath procedures and protocols
- Maintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team-building exercises
- Participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP)
- Review Care Plans, Quarterly Assessments
- Monitor infection control procedures
- Monitor the Immunization program
- Abide by CHC policies and procedures
- Evaluate and recommend products and equipment
- Conduct pre-admission assessments, as needed
- Work with the Clerk to ensure adequate supply levels
- Participate in quality management processes
- Supervise the quality and content of the medical records
- Ensure the facility they work in is compliant with current laws
- Improve the quality and efficiency of the level of care delivered to patients
- Solve any problems patients might have at the facility
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five years of supervisory/management experience in a medical facility
- Registered Nurse (RN) Illinois
