Join our Sibley Nursing Team as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist, Oncology Hematology

With its 318 beds, this non-profit, full-service acute care hospital offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms.

About this position:

The Nurse Educator (Nursing Practice and Professional Development Specialist) provides professional development and education to assist staff in preparing for contemporary practice and support in acquiring the evidence-based knowledge and skills needed to competently care for Oncology Hematology patients. She/he facilitates bridging the gap between research and evidence-based practice ensuring quality and safe patient care both directly and indirectly. She/he participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating activities associated with comprehensive unit-based and hospital-wide nursing educational needs.

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia required
  • Master of Nursing (MSN) required. Individuals who have matriculated in appropriate Master's program may be considered
  • Board-Certification within specialty preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience required; Oncology Hematology RN experience and experience as an Educator preferred
  • CPR Certification required

Salary Range: Minimum 52.33/hour - Maximum 81.11/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
