ASPIRUS ST. LUKE'S HOSPITAL in Duluth, MN is seeking a NURSE EDUCATOR to join our Nursing Administration team!

Salary Range: $41.03 - $59.47 Hourly
Schedule/Hours: DAY ONLY, Variable Shifts
Weekend Requirement: Generally No Weekends
FTE: FULL TIME, 1.0 FTE or 80 Hours Biweekly

The Nursing Educator is an experienced Registered Nurse who is responsible for assisting in the assessment, development, coordination, presentation, and evaluation of educational program needs within the identified area(s) of practice. Functions in the role of an educator, consultant, facilitator, and change agent to professional nurses and other clinical staff in the identified area(s) of practice. Coordinates continuing nursing education, orientation, and professional development with students, staff, leaders, and other healthcare professionals. Supports interprofessional education.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education

  • BSN required, or actively working towards BSN degree to be obtained within 2 years, or MS within 3 years of the hire date in that role.
  • Knowledge of nursing process and workflows acquired through completion of a nursing degree program.
  • Knowledge of adult education principles and practices. Certification in Nursing Professional Development desired.


Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Registered Nurse. Must possess an exceptional understanding of clinical practices, principles, and workflows.
  • Prior experience in staff development, education, and training highly desired.
  • Prior experience with lean and process improvement methodologies a plus.
  • Significant previous experience with Microsoft Office applications, proficiency in use of Work, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Excellent project management, change management, and presentation skills.
  • High level of interpersonal communication and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks. Advanced problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.


Required

  • Possesses an active Minnesota RN license.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required.
  • Demonstrate ability to be self-directed and initiative-taking, apply critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills to complex tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform in a team environment, utilize effective team relationship skills, and interact at all levels of the organization.   • Possess knowledge of adult learning techniques/methodology, blended learning, and training/education practices and principles.
