Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of relevant experience or Master's Degree with 3 years or Ph.D. with no experience required.
• Equivalent qualifications include Navy Nuclear Power School graduate or NNS Apprentice School graduate.
• Experience with numerically controlled machine programming is essential.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in selecting appropriate machining tools and cutting methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write programs for numerically controlled machines based on engineering specifications.
• Analyze engineering drawings to configure parts and outline machine operations sequence.
• Create machining programs for parts, tools, and sheet metal on CNC machines.
• Make informed cutter selections considering different machining factors.
• Choose efficient program routines for optimal computer calculations of machining needs.
• Test and modify existing programs to incorporate engineering changes.
• Enhance existing processes through program improvements.
