The Principal Assurance Analyst provides nuclear oversight and assessment activities for Duane Arnold Energy Center. This role performs independent supplier audits and assessments to evaluate supplier compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, quality assurance standards, procurement requirements, and industry expectations. The Principal Assurance Analyst assesses supplier performance and quality program effectiveness to ensure products and services meet nuclear safety and operational requirements. In this role you will identify opportunities for improvement, verify corrective actions, and provide objective evaluations that support nuclear safety, operational excellence, supplier performance, and continuous improvement.
This position will be initially be located onsite at our Duane Arnold Energy Center (IA) for approximately the first 3 years, and will then subsequently move to support our Jupiter West (FL) site. Relocation to our Jupiter West location is a condition of employment for this role.
Job OverviewThis job is responsible for providing enterprise-level leadership and subject matter expertise in nuclear assurance oversight activities. Employees in this role plan, lead, and independently execute complex audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with regulatory, licensing, quality, and contractual requirements. This job exercises broad technical authority and judgment to identify systemic performance risks that impact nuclear safety, reliability, and business objectives. Employees in this role influence senior leadership decisions, mentor assurance personnel, and shape nuclear assurance strategies, routinely represents Nextera enterprise to the industry, and continuous improvement initiatives. This job provides SME-type perspective on all QATR-listed audit topics and for all of 10CFR50 Appendix B Criteria.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Leads and executes nuclear assurance audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with regulatory, licensing, and quality requirements
- Provides technical and professional leadership to assessment teams including direction of scope, methods, and evaluation techniques
- Evaluates organizational effectiveness including nuclear safety culture and identifies systemic issues impacting nuclear safety and reliability
- Analyzes performance data, interviews personnel, and conducts observations to determine causes, trends, and risk significance
- Develops and issues assessment reports with conclusions and recommendations for management decision making
- Communicates audit results, risk insights, and improvement strategies to site and corporate leadership
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications- Education: High School Grad / GED
- Ecucation: Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 7+ years
- Nuclear Experience: 2+ years
Preferred Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 10+ years
- Nuclear Experience: 5+ years
- Leadership Experience: 2+ years
Special RequirementsNuclear Specific Requirements:
- In absence of degree: 13+ years of nuclear experience and 4+ years of nuclear oversight experience
Nuclear Specific Preferences:
- Experience with business unit practices, procedures, and standards in more than one work area: 5+ years
- Trending, industry developments and benchmarking experience: 4+ years
- Experience evaluating organizational effectiveness including nuclear safety culture: 2+ years
