$10,000 Sign-on Bonus for External CandidatesOptum NY/NJ, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Middletown, NY. Optum is a clinician-led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist, under the general supervision of the Stress Lab Manager, is responsible for performing routine nuclear cardiology, radiopharmacy, and quality control procedures. The Technologist documents, obtains, and processes images and/or data from nuclear medicine technology and provides processed results to the physician for final interpretation. Additional responsibilities include the ability to order, assay, dispense, and administer radioactive materials. Nuclear medicine provides critical insight into both the structure and function of major organ systems.
Primary Location: Middletown-155 (must be able to float to Monroe and West Nyack)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30am/7:00am to 2:30pm/3:00pm
Primary Responsibilities:- Perform routine and specialized nuclear cardiology and nuclear medicine procedures
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications for imaging and therapeutic procedures
- Acquire, process, and evaluate images to ensure technical quality
- Provide data, images, and documentation to physicians for interpretation
- Perform radiopharmacy duties including ordering, assaying, dispensing radioactive materials
- Conduct quality control procedures and maintain equipment calibration
- Review patient history and ensure exam appropriateness and safety
- Educate patients regarding procedures and equipment
- Assist with accreditation processes (e.g., ACR) and departmental workflows

Required Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of JRCNMT-accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- NYS DOH License (L.N.M.T.)
- ARRT (N) or CNMT certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- IV certification or eligibility
Preferred Qualifications:- Degree in relevant field
- Additional certifications such as PET or NCT
Physical Requirements- Work is generally active; must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods
- Must be able to move or lift patients onto stretchers, tables, or wheelchairs as needed
