AHS's Cardiovascular Imaging Outpatient Departments currently has an opening for a Nuclear Technologist. Selected candidate will perform Cardiac Nuclear Stress studies in accordance with established departmental protocols and policies . This position works within hours and a department that is based in an off-site imaging centers in and around facilities that are affiliated with Morristown Medical Center/Atlantic Health System as well as other off-site offices that are associated with Physician Aligned practices

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses, under direction of physician.
2. Calibrates equipment.
3. Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film.
4. Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
5. Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
6. Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
7. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:
1. HS Diploma or equivalent experience.
2. Graduate of AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine required
3. Employment history of working in an office- based setting is preferred - Specific Certification related to position or Associates Degree/Technical Degree in related field. All licenses and certifications needed to fulfill the duties required of a Technician at the state (s) and/or national level. Top expert and functional mentor; possesses the most advanced knowledge of the function/family and department. Makes decisions regarding daily priorities for a work group; provides guidance to and/or assists staff on non-routine or escalated issues. Collaborates with Management in the development and validation of methods, techniques, and analytical approach. Serves as a model/mentor for team Members on technical skills.
