Job Title: Nuclear Med Tech Lead

Location: Barnabas Health Medical Group

Department Name: Ocean Heart and Vascular



Status: Hourly

Shift: Day

Pay Range: $55.55 - $68.75 per hour

Pay Transparency:

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Ocean Heart and Vascular is looking to add a qualified full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist Lead in Eatontown, NJ.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program

Preferred:
  • PET Experience a Plus
  • Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist


Certifications and Licenses Required:
  • Must possess a current NJ State license, ARRT and/or NMTCB
  • BLS certification


Scheduling Requirements:
  • Day Shift, 40 hours/week (7:30 AM - 4 PM)
  • Full-Time


Essential Functions:
  • Performs all hot lab related functions such as receiving, using and discarding of Radio-pharmaceuticals following/applying vendor, departmental and DEP rules and regulations strictly
  • Calibrates the dose calibrator and performs QC procedures on gamma cameras per departmental protocols and notifies the lead tech of any malfunctions/issues promptly
  • Identifies the patients both IP and OP per hospital SOP before starting any procedure
  • Explains the procedure to the patient clearly including wait times and performs the procedure assuring maximum comfort to the patient
  • Obtains best possible images by using prescribed technical parameters and techniques
  • Assures that all tests are performed properly and test results are valid and accurate prior to the release of the patient
  • Assists the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures
  • Strives to maintain the department in a neat and clean condition
  • Accepts special assignments from supervisor and completes them on time
  • Abides by standards established by the hospital, state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Performs all duties in a friendly and courteous manner offering assistance to physicians, patients, families, visitors and co-workers
  • Extends courtesy and consideration to others in all interpersonal relationships, including telephone contacts
  • Demonstrates the ability to respond to instruction from peers or superiors in order to complete department tasks
  • Demonstrates the ability to determine the proper time to discuss differences in work strategy
  • Performs other departmental duties as prescribed by supervisory personnel
  • Works overtime when needed
  • Assists in the performances of non-technical tasks within the department
  • Performs other duties as needed
