JOB SUMMARY
The NPI Test Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and validating manufacturing test methods across robotic production lines. This role serves as the bridge between development and manufacturing, ensuring test processes are successfully deployed and sustained in production. While many changes involve software-based testing, the role is equally focused on manufacturing execution, validation, and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Design Transfer & Manufacturing Implementation
Direct newly developed test methods from concept through implementation in a live production environment
Create and update manufacturing documentation within Agile PLM
Coordinate execution of TMV, IQ, and engineering study protocols
Partner with Software Quality, Operations Quality, R&D, and Manufacturing teams to finalize engineering changes
Manufacturing Test Method Development
Develop and maintain scalable test methods supporting multiple robotic production lines
Validate test performance, reliability, and repeatability in production environments
Troubleshoot test failures and drive continuous improvements
Develop, maintain, and scale manufacturing test systems and test methods across multiple robotic production lines
Test Automation & Software Integration
Write, debug, and integrate Python scripts within a proprietary manufacturing test framework
Support deployment of software-driven test processes into production
Support test sequencing, data collection, signal analysis, and automated test controls within production test environments
Required Qualifications
2+ years of engineering experience developing, implementing, or validating manufacturing test methods and process changes in a commercial manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of hardware/software interactions
Ability to read, execute, troubleshoot, and modify Python scripts used within manufacturing test systems
Experience with computerized test equipment and fixture design
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues, challenge assumptions, and drive process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
Medical device industry experience (MVP, PFMEAs, IQ Protocols, FDA Compliance)
Gage R&R analysis (Minitab preferred)
Hands-on Python scripting and test automation
Experience in capital equipment manufacturing
Experience with robotic or automated production systems
Familiarity with GIT, Agile PLM, MES (Camstar)
Experience supporting products in design transfer period (R&D ? production)
