Full Job Description
Under the supervision of a Cardiac Electrophysiologist and within the scope of practice and clinical privileges of the Advanced Practice Provider, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides specialized care for patients with cardiac electrophysiology conditions. This includes the evaluation, management, and treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and other complex arrhythmias. The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the electrophysiology patient workup and continuum of care, collaborating closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Responsibilities • Acquire and perform history and physical examinations • Record and interpret pertinent data (i.e., labs, diagnostic studies, discharge summaries, progress notes, etc.), including writing orders and discharges, evaluating, treating, and diagnosing patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. • Coordinate ongoing overall patient care with physician staff, nursing staff, and other ancillary care providers to ensure treatment plans are implemented • Assist or perform bedside procedures within the scope of service Maintain communication with patients and families regarding care Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to deliver care appropriate to adult and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed Perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices • Perform other related duties as required Participation in Quality activities, including Unit Practice Committees Qualifications Education (NP): • Master of Nursing Degree. • Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered. Education (PA-C): • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required. • Bachelor's degree Experience: • One year of experience as a NP or PA-C in Cardiac Electrophysiology, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias. Licensure/Certifications Requirements: • NP • CA RN License. • Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License. • NPI • PA-C • PA-C License • National PA-C Certification • DEA License (schedule 2-5) • ACLS Life Support Certification required.
